Two FCDS Students Accepted to N.C. Governor’s School

Congratulations to Bella St. John and Charlotte Pascoe who have been accepted to attend Governor’s School this summer. Bella will attend for English at Governor’s School East at Greensboro College, and Charlotte will attend for Math at Governor’s School West at Meredith College.

“Governor's School is a highly competitive and prestigious program, and having both of our candidates selected is a testament to the preparation they’ve received at FCDS, and to Bella and Charlotte’s tenacity,” said FCDS Governor’s School advisor Carol Hsu. “Both students embody curiosity about all of their academic subjects and shine in the area for which they were selected. Charlotte is gifted in mathematics, and her passion for learning doesn’t end at school: she always has a book in hand and is constantly soaking up new ideas and learning about topics that interest her. Bella is a talented writer who not only excels in English classes but is drawn to creative pursuits, including art and drama. Governor’s School’s interdisciplinary approach will certainly enrich Charlotte and Bella’s learning, and I’m confident they will contribute great ideas to the classes there as well.”

Well done, Bella and Charlotte!
