    Heather attended Salem College in Winston-Salem, graduating summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in 2008. In 2009, Heather completed and received her NC Early Childhood Credentials for birth through kindergarten.  Heather previously served as a lead teacher for Clemmons United Methodist Preschool in their toddler program before coming to FCDS full time. She has been a member of the FCDS faculty since 2008, serving as the After School Activities Program Coordinator, an assistant teacher, the science teacher for the preschool program, and a lead teacher in the preschool 2s program. She currently serves as a lead teacher in the Preschool 3s program.  Teaching is truly her passion and she is currently completing coursework for an additional degree in Early Intervention and Special Education in Early Childhood. Heather and her husband, Morgan, have two children, Penny (FCDS class of 2030) and Teddy (FCDS class of 2033).

    Originally from Long Island, New York, Jennifer earned her bachelor’s degree in political science and international relations from Elon University and her master’s degree in language and literacy development from Salem College, where she also completed her teaching certifications in Middle Grades, Academically Gifted Education, and K-12 Reading.

    Jennifer taught seventh grade social studies in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools for eight years, serving as a seventh grade lead teacher, a seventh grade team leader, and working on school improvement teams and chairing the School Leadership Team. Jennifer was also a  new teacher mentor and club sponsor for various clubs. 

    She and her family live in Clemmons.

    Bio
     
    After receiving his bachelor's degree in history from Mars Hill College in 1990, Joe was a teacher, coach, and dormitory head at Massanutten Military Academy in Woodstock, Virginia from 1992-1996, and at the Orme School in Mayer, Arizona from 1996-1998. Joe has been with FCDS since 1998 as a teacher, and has coached cross country for seven years and track for three years. His family includes his wife Barbara, an FCDS alumna and former faculty member, have two sons, Will (FCDS 2021) and Sam (FCDS 2023).

    From King, N.C., Leah earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from Appalachian State University, where she was a North Carolina Teaching Fellow. 
     
    She has 30 years of experience teaching in the middle grades and is AIG-certified and National Board Certified.  
     
    Leah and her husband Robert have two college-age children, Ian and Natalie.

    Bio
     
    A native of Winston-Salem, Lisa has taught at Forsyth Country Day School since 2017. She taught in the Johnson Academic Center, and in 2018, helped re-establish the Latin program, which now has grown to include four levels of Latin. Before that, Lisa taught Latin for the Winston-Salem Forsyth County schools.   

    Lisa received her bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in creative writing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She earned her master’s in teaching with a concentration in secondary education from Salem College. Lisa is a member of the ACL (American Classical League), NCCA (North Carolina Classical Association), and is in the process of initiating a chapter of the NCJCL (North Carolina Junior Classical League) at FCDS.  

    Lisa and her husband have two children, Dafi (‘29) and Vasoula (‘31) who attend FCDS.

    Originally from Chicago, Kristin earned her bachelor’s degrees from Southern Illinois University in regular and special education (with concentrations in learning and behavioral differences). She went on to earn a master’s degree in teaching and leadership from St. Xavier University, followed by a master’s degree in reading specialty from Benedictine University. Before coming to FCDS she was a middle school instructional resource teacher for 9 years. Kristin joined the faculty at FCDS in 2018 as a language development specialist in the Johnson Academic Center. In 2020, she won the Johnson Academic Center Rhyne Award for teaching excellence. Additionally, Kristin has completed multisensory language instruction training (Orton-Gillingham) and is an Associate Member of the Orton-Gillingham Academy (2021). She and her husband Derrek have two children, Noah (FCDS ‘29) and Paige (FCDS ‘31).

    Bio
     
    A native of Winston-Salem, Mark graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C. Mark was accepted on scholarship into the Miriam Cannon Hayes School of Music as a violist. He earned a bachelor's degree in music industry with a minor in business administration. He also pursued an undergraduate academic concentration in technology. His interest in technology led him to complete a master’s degree in industrial technology and he concurrently completed a graduate certificate in computer information systems from Appalachian's Walker College of Business. After several years in his family's electrical business, where he learned the technical and service side of the industrial manufacturing industry, Mark's passion for teaching led him back to Appalachian State University as an adjunct instructor in the University's Department of Technology where he continues to teach online courses in Technology and Web Design.  Currently Mark serves as the Academic Technology Coordinator for FCDS and is also a systems support analyst in the IT department. He also teaches AP Computer Science as well as various technology courses throughout the year. Most recently, Mark received a second master's degree in Executive Leadership from Gardner Webb. Mark is also the president of Elegant Ensembles, an entertainment services company that provides ensembles for weddings and special events throughout North Carolina. Mark's enjoyment of the viola also keeps him busy during the year performing as a substitute player with regional orchestras. Mark and his wife Robin have four children.

    Robin Snow has been part of Forsyth for over twenty years. During her time here, she has taught both sixth and eighth grade English, led the sixth grade team as Team Leader, held the MS Dean of Students position as well as Director of MS Student Life, and Assistant Middle School Director of Teaching and Learning.  

    Robin earned her Master of Arts in Executive Leadership in 2013 from Gardner-Webb University and currently holds her NC Administrative License in Grades K-12. She specialized in individualized professional development for educators.

    Originally from Port Washington, New York, Nancy received her bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College, her J.D. from Dickinson Law School, and her early childhood credential from Mitchell Community College. Nancy is a North Carolina Bar, North Carolina Bar Association, and the 22nd Judicial District member. Nancy is a member of the International Dyslexia Association and a member of the National Tutoring Association. She began teaching at FCDS in 2008. She received her certification as an Advanced Academic Coach through the NTA in 2019. Nancy is a Certified Member of the Orton-Gillingham Academy. Additionally, she is a Fellow-in-Training (FIT/OGA). She has ongoing guidance and instruction by an Academy Fellow.

    She and her husband Dave have two sons: Daniel (FCDS’18) and James (FCDS’22).

    Margaret grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. She graduated from Davidson College with a bachelor’s degree in English, then returned to school in St. Louis, Missouri for a bachelor’s degree in nursing from St. Louis University. She worked in the pediatric ICU in St. Louis and in Charlotte. She took a five-year break from nursing while her children were little and worked as an assistant at an elementary school in Davidson, N.C. before moving to Winston-Salem. She and her husband David have three children: Mary Gray (FCDS ‘21), Sam (FCDS ‘24), and Lewis (FCDS ‘30).

    Originally from Rural Hall, N.C., Adam earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Montreat College. 
     
    Adam has seven years of educational experience, most recently at Valdosta High School in Valdosta, Georgia. He has taught, been a teaching assistant, worked one-on-one with students, and worked with an organization dedicated to helping students reach their personal goals. 
     
    Adam and his wife Michele have a son, Brody.

    Priscilla graduated cum laude from the University of Arizona with a bachelor's degree in journalism and Italian. She was a member of Kappa Tau Alpha, the National Journalism Honor Society, and Gamma Kappa Alpha, the National Italian Honor Society.

    Priscilla worked as a reporter and editor both in college and after she graduated. She had the unusual experience of working on The Tombstone Epitaph, the oldest continuously published newspaper in the West, while in school. When she moved back to her native New England, Priscilla became a reporter for the East Bay Newspaper group, and also worked as a free-lance editor. Priscilla joined the FCDS faculty in 2003 as a communications assistant and Johnson Academic Center academic coach. She became a member of the administrative team as the director of communications in 2007. She has taught journalism in the Upper School, advised the literacy magazine, and taught seventh and eighth grade creative writing.

    Priscilla and her husband Gabe have two daughters, Bella (FCDS 2026) and Lily.

    Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Bridgette earned her bachelor’s degree in early childhood/special education from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. Before coming to FCDS, she taught third grade in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, winning the 2018 PROMISE New Teacher of the Year Award. She was also the Teacher Candidate for the school's Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports program in 2019 and 2020.

    Bridgette and her husband Josh have a young son, Isaac.

    Jenny graduated from Meredith College with a bachelor of science degree in child
    development and also received her NC K-6 teaching license. Upon graduation, she taught
    second grade before staying home to raise her children. Later, she returned to teaching preschool at Myers Park Presbyterian Church in Charlotte until moving to Winston-Salem in 2009. She then taught 2-year-olds and 3-year-olds at Knollwood Through-The-Week School. Jenny and her husband Tom have two daughters, Mary Stuart (FCDS ‘23) and Molly (FCDS ‘24).

    Jen was raised in the United States Navy, which allowed her to live in many fantastic places. She was born in Kansas and then lived in Monterey and San Diego, California, Northern Virginia, and Charleston, S.C. before making North Carolina home.

    She has a bachelor's degree in nursing and has worked in MICU and Labor and Delivery. 

    Jen has four children: Jack, Julia, Will (FCDS '27), and Aaron (FCDS '31).

    Originally from Florida, Becka earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Salem College. She has lived in Winston-Salem for the past 15 years.

    Becka has spent a lifetime working with young children - from babysitting to serving as a nanny to working as a teaching assistant or lead teacher for the past four years.

    Originally from Winston-Salem, Thomas earned his bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State and his master’s degree from Universidad de Alcala in Alcala de Henares, Spain. 
     
    Fluent in Spanish, Thomas lived, taught,and studied in Spain for four years and taught Spanish in New York City for eight years at the Hyde Leadership Charter School in the Bronx. 
     
    He is married to fellow FCDS teacher Grace Mason. 
     
    Fun fact: Thomas is a Fury alum who attended FCDS in seventh and eighth grade.

    Born and raised in Charlotte, N.C, Jayme earned her bachelor’s degree in specific learning disabilities and her master’s degree in speech-language pathology from Appalachian State University. She worked as a special education teacher in a resource setting in elementary and middle schools and as a special education teacher in a self-contained classroom for students with autism. She also taught at Triad Academy and completed AOGPE Associate-level coursework. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from ASHA and is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of North Carolina. Jayme’s husband Andrew attended FCDS for lower and middle school. They have three children who all attend FCDS: Jackson (FCDS ’30), Nora (FCDS ’33), and Adam (FCDS ’35).

    Carolyn grew up in Winston-Salem and earned her bachelor's degree in English and French, as well as her certification in secondary English education at Furman University. Carolyn taught English and Yearbook at Travelers Rest High School in Greenville, S.C. and was awarded the top ranking of "all-state" in a yearbook competition.

    Carolyn has had several roles at FCDS including an English teacher and Assistant Director of Upper School. 

    She and her husband Cameron have a daughter Julia.

    Although Robbyn grew up in Pennsylvania, she has been a North Carolinian since graduating from Catawba College in 1998. There she received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education. After teaching in Rowan County for a few years, she left teaching to raise her three children.

    Robbyn returned to Regent University in 2014 and earned her master’s degree in divinity. Because of her love of education and students, Robbyn joined the Johnson Academic Center in January 2016 and the Middle School faculty in 2017. Robbyn and her husband Joe have three children: Joey (FCDS ‘19), Andrew (FCDS ‘20), and Allie.
     
Our faculty knows our students’ names, supports them, encourages them, and is always pulling for them. In this way, our staff continually draws out the best in each and every child, showing them how to study, advocate for themselves, and develop a solid work ethic.
