    Bio
     
    Beth has more than 35 years of marketing experience. She started her career as a production manager at Fidelity Investments in Boston. She moved to Winston-Salem to be vice president and marketing manager at Wachovia. She has also worked at an advertising agency, where she provided branding and marketing support for a variety of clients. Most recently, she was a partner in a local marketing company that provided content creation for online marketing, websites, email, and social media.
     
    Beth and her husband Jon have two sons who are FCDS Lifers: Brandon (FCDS ’17) and Jason (FCDS ’20).

    A native of Wallburg, N.C., Jimmy earned his degree in information technologies from Forsyth Technical Community College and has 16 years of experience in information technology. He is  A+ Certified in his field. 

    Jimmy is married to Jamie.

    Mike earned his bachelor's degree from Wake Forest University and his master's degree in education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Since 1993, Mike has tried to make his classroom a haven of inspiration and passion for learning. Prior to coming to FCDS in 1998, he taught and coached at Northwest Middle School in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school system. Mike is one of Forsyth’s longest tenured coaches and has coached basketball, baseball, and even debate at the Middle and Upper School levels. Mike currently teaches sixth grade science, and he coaches the Middle School varsity basketball and baseball teams. He has been involved with several academic committees and mentoring programs, and Mike is active in the FCDS community as a parent, teacher, and coach. He runs the afterschool dodgeball program, teaches Summer Quest classes, and even assists in sixth grade physical education. Mike and his wife Debra have three children: Jacob, Joshua, and Jackson.

    Megan earned a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in women's studies and a master's degree in school counseling, both from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was a member of Psi Chi, a psychology honor fraternity. Before coming to FCDS, Megan worked at Orange High School in Hillsborough, N.C., where she served as a school counselor and testing coordinator. Megan is a member of the North Carolina School Counselor Association and the American School Counselor Association, and has been published in The Journal for Specialists in Group Practice.

    Megan is a native of Winston-Salem and was excited to return home when she joined FCDS in 2004. During her time at Forsyth Country Day, Megan has worked with students in all divisions but loves the time she spends with the Middle School students. In addition to teaching Middle School guidance classes, Megan also works with the Parent Connection Series, Forsyth Ambassadors, and serves as an Upper School co-advisor. She and her husband Trent have two children, Jack (FCDS 2025) and Laney (FCDS 2027).

    Originally from Michigan, Grace has lived in New York for the past eight years. She earned her  bachelor’s degree in social studies, history, and secondary education from Eastern Michigan University and her master's degree in educational psychology from Hunter College (CUNY).

    Grace taught in China and Taiwan for a few years before settling in New York, where she taught at Hyde Leadership Charter School in the Bronx. She helped develop and teach the AP Capstone program, served as history department head, and mentored teachers through the NYU Fellowship program. 

    Fun fact: Grace is married to fellow FCDS teacher Thomas Streblow, an FCDS alumnus.

    Andrea graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in business administration in accounting from Appalachian State University. She is a certified public accountant in North Carolina with 10 years of experience at Ernst & Young prior to joining FCDS in 2001. Andrea and her husband Paul have two sons: Baylor (FCDS 2018) and Grayson (FCDS 2023).

    Bio
     
    Ed was born and raised in New Jersey, where he wrestled at Holy Cross High School. He received his bachelor's degree in history from Franklin & Marshall College and his master's degree in history from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He was also a member of Phi Alpha Theta, a national history honor society. Ed taught and coached wrestling at The Culver Academies in Culver, Indiana. He served as a teacher, wrestling coach, and dean of students at The Asheville School, where his 1992 team won the NCISAA state championship. Ed subsequently taught, coached, and was the dean of ninth and tenth grades at Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, Tennessee. Ed was named to Who's Who Among America's Teachers in 1998, and in 2002, Asheville School renamed its "Outstanding in Wrestling" award the "Edward T. McBride Award in Wrestling." He has been a College Board reader for the national AP US History exam and published diagnostic tests, 5 Steps to a 5: AP American History in 2003. Ed has two sons, Patrick (FCDS 2021) and Andrew (FCDS 2024).

    Bio
     
    A native of Kernersville, North Carolina, Julie McCann attended Wake Forest University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in K-6 education and was a scholarship athlete on the women’s soccer team. She coached soccer for NC Fusion and WSFCS schools on and off for the past 20 years and is a nationally certified coach. She has worked with many different ages from preschool through college. She served as an assistant coach at High Point University before following her passion for teaching. Julie has taught in both middle and elementary school for over 14 years. She also has worked in curriculum development where for four years she served as the program manager for a drop-out prevention program called Career-Start.

    Julie and her husband Michael live in Winston-Salem and have three children: Audrey (FCDS ’25), Ethan (FCDS ’26), and Maddie (FCDS ’29).

    A native of Durham, N.C., Yolanda is a passionate educator who believes literacy can change lives. She earned her bachelor’s degree in economics, her master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and her doctorate in education from Northeastern University.

    While working on her master’s, she served as the site coordinator of a Freedom School at Davidson College, where she led a team of eight teachers in their daily instruction of students in K-eighth grade. Yolanda has a long and diverse career in education, working in both urban and rural communities with students of different ages and backgrounds, honing her ability to listen, analyze data, and center students.

    Yolanda has served in numerous leadership roles including instructional facilitator with the Winston-Salem/ Forsyth County Schools. During her tenure, she led teams of teachers in providing an educational experience for students that was grounded in research-based practices.

    Yolanda and her husband Sean have two sons, McKinley and Harrison.

    Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Jessy earned her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Alabama and her master’s degree in secondary education from the University of Montevallo.

    Jessy is entering her ninth year of teaching high school English, which she has done in both public and private settings in four states. 

    Jessy and her husband Adam have a son, Ollie.

    Born in Unionville, Ohio, Tina graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne University with a degree in elementary education. After college, Tina began her teaching career at Pinnacle Elementary School in Stokes County, N.C. There, she worked with the State of North Carolina to develop, design, and conduct workshops dealing with the new math curriculum. She was also a teacher representative on the committee to develop the E.O.G. test for second grade. In 1992, Tina earned her master’s degree in education from Gardner Webb University. While at Pinnacle, Tina was also selected as Teacher of the Year for Pinnacle Elementary. Additionally, she was Stokes County Math Teacher of the Year. In 2000, with the birth of her son, Tina moved to Meadowlark Elementary School in Winston-Salem. There, she was named Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Math Teacher of the Year in 2002 and 2010 and Top 10 Teacher of the Year for Winston-Salem/ Forsyth County in 2005. While at Meadowlark Elementary, Tina continued to teach math assessment workshops and work on the development of E.O.G. testing. Tina and her husband Mark have a son Ryan, who is presently in college.

    Originally from Mount Airy, Chasity earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from High Point University.

    Prior to coming to FCDS, she taught first grade for 13 years at Forsyth Academy charter school, where she also served as a reading interventionist, teacher mentor, and teacher content leader. Chasity was named Teacher of the Year, earned the Vision Award, and received the Excellence in Teaching Award for two years in a row.

    Chastity and her husband Mike live in Lewisville with their son Brody.

    Originally from Franklin, N.C., Heather graduated from Appalachian State University with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting. Heather is an N.C. Certified Public Accountant with more than 10 years of experience in public accounting, industry, and financial services.

    Rebecca holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education from High Point University, where she was awarded the Dan B. Cooke Educational Award for Outstanding Student Teacher. While teaching with Guilford County Schools for eight years, Rebecca received the Silas Abraham Peeler Elementary Educator Award from the Guilford County Council of PTA. In 2013, she completed the AOGPE Orton Gillingham Associate Level training.

    A first grade teacher at FCDS, Rebecca is also affiliated with the High Point Council of International Reading Association and was president in 1998. She was inducted into Delta Kappa Gamma Society International in 1999 and the High Point University/Central Carolina Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa International in 2000. In 2007, she was inducted into Who's Who of American Teachers. She was elected president of the High Point University/Central Carolina Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa International in 2009. Rebecca also serves on the board of the Winston-Salem Children's Chorus and is president of the parent association. She is a member of the Operators for the Piedmont Opera Company. Rebecca and her husband Robin have a daughter, Allison (FCDS 2014).

    Born and raised in South Africa, Linda graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English and theater from Rhodes University. She also earned a teaching certificate and a M.Ed in teacher leadership. She taught in South Africa for ten years and has taught in WSFCS for 24 years. She and her husband Duncan have three grown children and three grandchildren.

    Jodi Moore earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Meredith College. After a career in business that utilized her excellent interpersonal and organizational skills (regional manager, account executive, associate territory business manager) and raising two children, Jodi became a teacher in 2012. For four years, Jodi served as a teacher assistant in the Davie County Schools, providing academic assistance, instructional preparation and support, and seeking to make a positive difference in the lives of children. Jodi and her husband Michael have two children: Zachary (FCDS 2020) and McKenzie (FCDS 2023).

    A native of Albemarle, N.C. Mamie earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism and business from Southern Methodist University. 

    Mamie worked in advertising and marketing and volunteered regularly at The Crossnore School and Children's Home as a tutor and mentor. For the past six years, she volunteered weekly in the FCDS workroom, served on the Parents' Association, and worked as a substitute teacher in the preschool and lower school. 

    Mamie and her husband Crae have two children at FCDS: Clyde ’22 and Margaret ’26.

    Tonya grew up in East Bend, N.C., earning her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from UNC-Wilmington and her master’s degree in language and literacy from Salem College.    

    A veteran teacher, Tonya taught first grade for 22 years in the Yadkin County Schools. She is a National Board Certified teacher. 

    Tonya and her husband Jack have two daughters, Marley Grace and Kinley Faith. Kinley joins FCDS this year as a fourth grader.

    Originally from High Point, North Carolina, Ann Parke attended Wake Forest University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She went on to earn her master’s degree in reading education from Appalachian State University. Ann Parke taught kindergarten and first grade in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools for seven years. Before coming to FCDS she tutored privately for 14 years and served as education director for Sloan Academics. She is certified in K-6 elementary education, gifted education, and multisensory language instruction (Orton-Gillingham) and is an Associate Member of the  Orton-Gillingham Academy. Ann Parke joined the faculty at FCDS in 2011 as a language development specialist in the Johnson Academic Center and has been the Director of the Lower School since July 2020. She has two children, Spencer (FCDS Class of '20) and Sam.

    Keira grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, earning her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Kenyon College and her master’s degree in education in curriculum development from the University of Phoenix. 

    Trained in Singapore Math, she has 30 years of experience as an independent school math teacher and administrator.

    Keira and her husband Gary have three sons: Matthew, Kevin, and Liam.
