FCDS Names Six to Fury Athletic Hall of Fame
Congratulations to the Fury Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2024 Inductees! They are: Chris Rhyne ’06, Brey Dorset Johnson ’09, Kathleen Baker ’15, Tanner Beason ’15, Lindsey Ickes ’18, and Ben Mitchell ’18. These accomplished athletes will officially be inducted in a ceremony on Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, in the Childress Activities Center.
Chris Rhyne ’06
- Lead the boys’ varsity tennis team to state championships in 2004, 2005, 2006
- Two-time All-American tennis player
- Four-time All-State tennis player
- Four-time All-Conference tennis player
- Ranked among the top 75 national tennis recruits
- Captain at Furman University, leading multiple Southern Conference championship teams
Brey Dorsett Johnson ’09
- 2009 PTAC 3A Player of the Year in NCISAA All-State Basketball Award
- Two-time All-Conference basketball in 2008,2009
- Winston-Salem Journal All-Northwest Girls’ Basketball Team
- All-State softball 2009
- Two-time softball MVP
- Played basketball at UNC-G and Johnson C. Smith University
- 2012-2013 All-CIAA basketball selection

Kathleen Baker ’15
