Two FCDS Students Accepted to NC High School Honors Chorus

Sophomore Maddox Harrell (Second Tenor) is now ranked eleventh in the state, and junior Bryson Miller (First Bass) ranks thirteenth in the state.

The North Carolina Honors Chorus is the most competitive audition for chorus students within the school year. Out of over 800 high school students who audition for the Honors Chorus across North Carolina, 160 are seated in the choir.

The students prepared an excerpt of an assigned piece and also performed a cold sight reading assessment with only sixty seconds to prepare during the audition.

“I am so proud of each of our students who prepared for this audition. We learn by auditioning and grow every time that we experience the process. These students are some of North Carolina’s finest,” said Terry Hicks, FCDS Chorus Director.

Over the past eight years, eight FCDS students have earned entrance into the North Carolina High School Honors Chorus.

Congratulations to Maddox and Bryson for their hard work and this major accomplishment!
