Girls’ Varsity Soccer Wins Third State Championship in Three Years


Congratulations to the girls’ varsity soccer team for winning the NCISAA 3A State Championship for the third year in a row!

The girls dominated the season, finishing 20-0 with 13 shut-out victories. In the championship game, they faced number-one seed Cape Fear Academy and won 3-0. Captain Maddie Templeton ’24 scored two goals and Bailey Divelbiss ’29 contributed one. 

Head Coach Julie McCann and assistant coaches Nuwo Johnson ’04 and Brendan Bohon were proud of the entire team. “The girls worked hard, cared for one another, respected one another, and grew from the beginning of the season to the end,” Coach Johnson said.
